Every word in today’s puzzle has a secret twin: a different word spelled with exactly the same letters. Use the little clue to figure out what you’re looking for, then shuffle the letters in your head (or on a scrap of paper). There are eight pairs, starting gently and staying friendly all the way through.
Rearrange the letters of each word in capitals to make a new word that fits the clue.
Rearrange LISTEN into a word meaning “not making a sound”
Rearrange EARTH into a word meaning “the organ that pumps your blood”
Rearrange STATE into a word meaning “the sense you use to enjoy a meal”

A Tip for Anagrams
Try saying the starting word’s letters out loud in a new order, or write them in a circle so your eye stops reading the old word. Begin with the clue: once you know you’re hunting for, say, a fruit, the letters often fall into place quickly.
